Jolene. That song brings me out in a rash, I hate the melody, I hate the lyrics I even hate the sound of Dolly's normally terrific voice.

I saw that someone listed "under the double eagle" The correct name for that tune is "look out below"

Merle Travis, eh? Well, I guess that just goes to show that even the best musicians can lay an egg every now and then.

What Joe Casey ,Gene Jones ,Jim Cohen and Leroy Riggs said . Yet it seems that it is requested at every gig I am involved in !!
Oh well , I'm glad these old hands can still fulfill those requests although certainly not like anything like as good as the Charleton , Rhodes version .

I used to play Blue Skirt Waltz long ago, and that song ALWAYS packed the floor with dancers. Every one loved it.

I have a lot of "most hated songs" as I'm sure we all do.
But I agree with Donny, "I walk the Line" and "Folsom prison blues "are definitely two I don't like.....al

The one I can't stand is the theme from "the Love Boat". I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this tune, unless it's automatically taken for granted that everyone hates it. Gotta be the least popular song in the world.

Thanks for opening Pandora's box, fellas! I've got that blasted Gilbert O'Sullivan song stuck in my head. The only thing that is annoying enough to displace it is Mandy by Barry Manilow- or anything by William Shatner!!

Mary Chapin Carpenter..a song that she recorded that has the most disgusting rhythm. I HATE that song for no other reason than the rhythm section. My senior moment works %100 so I can not remember the title.

Anything on the radio including the D.Js.

BOY !!! I must be the weird one here. I like about 95% of all the songs listed here, and actually can't think of one that I actually hate enough to turn off every time I hear it. They always said that I marched to the beat of a different drum compared to everybody else !!! OH WELL !!!

John P, you're a rare one my friend. I think it's been the so called perfect country and western song, You Never Called me by my Name for a long time now. Coe has never been my favorite on anything he does. Lately it's Be My Baby Tonight. Nobody ever applauds or dances and this guy keeps calling that tune. I can't figure it out.

" Tie a yellar' ribbin' 'round the ol' oak tree," AND, " Get the hammer mamma, there's a fly on baby's head!"

On the bandstand, it's "Old Time Rock and Roll". I really hate playing that song.

On the radio, it's "This Kiss". Grates on my nerves for some reason.

I like SGR (I even sing it ) and a lot of the other tunes mentioned, but I've been getting pretty tired of 50's tunes lately. I mean, "Johnny B. Goode" was an oldie when I was a teen.

Played with a guitarist who thought his version of "Last Date" (played by him on guitar) was gods gift. I remember my last week with that group the harmonica player and I counted down the nights to the final Last Date!

What!?!? I thought we were talking about Country songs! Since we're obviously not, let me add "Mellow Yellow", "Winchester Cathedrel", "Tiptoe Through The Tulips", and "The Times They Are 'a Changin" (along with EVERYTHING else Bob Dylan ever attempted to sing...and I use the term "sing" very loosely).
