Changeable pickups is a good idea, but until it's done by a <u>pickup</u> manufacturer (and not just a guitar manufacturer), it won't fly.
Actually, the (changeable) pickups should be made tapped...and also be reversible! That way, you could take the pickup out, turn it around, plug it in backwards, and have a different impedance pickup!
Two pickups in one! Yippee!
This would be a great retrofit product (no switches to add), plus a big selling point on new guitars.
