Best sounding lap steel amp?

Hello all! My name is Tom i just joined the fray. Ive been playing acoustic fingerstyle guitar and nylon for years but am fairly new to lap steel. Anyway, I have a Rickenbacker NS and just bought a Scotty frypan on Reverb. Yes, i'm the lucky guy! actually my son found it for me. It's amazing. Both the sound and playability. The guitar has a warm tone and although the hand wound horseshoe pickup isn't as powerful as my rickenbacker, it has a wonderful tone. I wanted to say that i also have been using a Yamaha Thr 10 on the acoustic guitar setting and tonight hooked it up to my Ultrasound DS4 acoustic amp with one of the hall reverb settings. Wow! As soon as i'm good enough to post a tune or two on Youtube I will prove this to all lol. One thing being an acoustic guitarist all my life, started learning classical at an early age, tone was everything before technique even. Anyway, I love this new style, i did own a square neck Regal for a while an antique one and knew how to play some open D and G songs so holding the bar wasn't new. However, It's more precise and i love how i have to use my ear more than the frets which are just guides. I have Doug Beaumiers C6 book, checking out a bunch of you guys and girls on Youtube and now that i have two very nice lap steels, the sky is the limit. Early on, i read where some people were saying things like the strings may break due to the head stock on this guitar. Not an issue at all. The first and sixth string i wind backwards from the others putting less stress on them. I have only used this guitar with a set of Scotty C6 strings so far and it's great. The rick i have tuned to High G. Sebastian Muller is an inspiration for that tuning as well. I'm learning from some good musicians for sure! The Ultrasound amps are very affordable and after trying fender, marshall, fishman, and aer acoustic amps for my Martin, that is the only amp that reproduces the natural sound! Not just my opinion. So glad i found it. Now that it sounds great for lap steel i figured i would give a shout out to it. I don't know if they make them anymore but they come on Reverb and Feebay once in a while for two to 3 hundred. Well worth it. For a battery operated amp, go with the Yamaha. Warm fat tone. I'll stop rambling, just excited about this new stye, sound etc. Best wishes to all, be safe out there. Tom Mardas.
