Very nice playing Rick! I'd imagine half the problem with that harmonic chorus is in the slow pace of the song...there's no flurry of notes where a mistake can hide...

Nicely executed Rick, a VERY difficult piece. That JB arrangement is far from Ezzee although the bar is an Ezzee~slide Tone Bar, and the tone is so good, the best, bar none !
That harmonic section is always scary but you nailed it..
Though I don't think he ever played it like this, Andy would be proud of you reproducing his vibrato so well.

So if I used one of your bars, would I now be playing "Polymer Guitar" rather the "Steel Guitar?"

I hope to pick one up before too long. What do you think would be a good bar to use with a National D-8?

The Bars arrived today and they didn't charge me any import tax, nice.

At first I was surprised because the 7/8" bar was quite a bit lighter than my other 7/8" steel ones and also lighter than my other 7/8" Polymer bar of the same size...
Thought I'd not like that, but to my surprise when I put it to the strings it has very nice tone and didn't seem to require me pushing it down into the strings to make up for the lighter weight.

Slides very nice and the weight makes it way easier to do hammer-on's and pull-offs without dropping it. That has always been difficult for me.
Like anything new it will take some time and practice to get adjusted to it.

The other smaller 3/4" bar you sent was a real surprise because I didn't expect the nice purple marbled design. Not only real cute but also a nice playing bar. Will need to adjust to it with practice also.



Should also mention that the presentation is nice with the wooded box and really nice bags for picks and bars.

That's why it's that weight. I CAN make that size heavier but quite frankly It's not necessary, as you'll find out when using the bar sustain is not determined by weight.

That is what I call a "Show-Bar" not intended for regular usage, it's a hard acrylic and IS susceptible to wear eventually.

Thanks for the Kudos, the R&D is mine but the presentation etc. is all Pat's ideas. It's a joint effort that we do for "Pin-Money" both of us being retired mid septuagenarians.

I didn't know that the purple one was a "Show-Bar" that will not last well if used too much so will just keep it for it's great looks.
Now I used the other 7/8" bar today when playing and it is quite nice as I said before and for all the reasons I said.
Comparing it to the other bars does not really seem fair because they are all good in their own way. In some kinds of tunes I prefer the ones that weigh more and in other tunes I like the light weight.
My best guess now is that I will keep the both handy all the times I'm playing.

Thank you sir! Love the new bar...now I have a Ezee-Slide Senior and Ezee-Slide Junior...the big bar feels right for the Fender 400 and the Stringmaster when I'm not doing a lot of slants, and the little one feels right on 6 string and is really easy to manage the trickier slants.

My Broz-o-Phonic is sulking in the corner (but hey, you gotta have a backup!).
