I'd say early 60's but it is interesting to note that the black triple in the early 70's catalog posted above has the older style logo.
Yes, interesting and the D8 and D6 guitar in the same catalog have the newer logo. That style started appearing on the regular guitars around 67 (following the purchase of the company by CBS in 65)
It wouldn't be the first time that the Fender catalogue showed a guitar with the wrong features for that year.

Yep, Organ Pavilion--good eye!
Hotshot Drifters photo taken at the Tower Bar--very old SD dive--you may remember it as well.

I'd like to see the rest of that guitar, I have my doubts.

Alan, I re-read the original thread where you described your project ! Wow...wonderful job on this steel, and I loved what I could see of you train layout too !

Thanks, Ron
I knew it couldn't be a factory model.
He sure came up with a nice guitar, though!

Nice to see all these Stringmasters. I've posted this before, but here's a video I made a few years ago featuring my '59:

Wow, you've even embellished the leg sockets, which, being under the guitar, no-one sees except the person screwing the legs in.

If you're on a high stage the audience are going to see that more than the work on top.
Lovely work.

How long did it take you to do all that engraving?
Fantastic work!
