Jeff, and Bobbe, I probably wrote my post wrong. What I meant was, the big mail order stores are here to stay, and Musician's Friend now sells Sierra Artists, and Carter Starters. We need the knowledgable dealers, and they need us! As I've said before, Bobbe was a tremendous help to me when I was putting my rig together, and I didn't buy anything from him. You think Guitar Center's gonna do that? I'm new at the steel thing, but I'm an old bluegrasser, so I know how things work in a narrow musical genre. Maybe there just need to be more steel guitars!
Anyway, sorry if I offended anybody, and I'm already looking forward to next year(my first!)!
God Bless!!

Don't worry about Jeff, he's just like me in the fact that he likes to say things forcefully just to get a response. He's a great guy and loves to pick on me too, but thats what I like about him Steve.

Well Mr. Montee, I feel you have been in too many new car lots lately..You know, where the salesman meets you at the door with one hand on your shoulder and the other on your wallet..and calling you "cuz" every other sentence...steel guitar manufactors are for the most part technicians, not salespeople..they have brought there guitars hundreds of miles so you can see what they have to offer you..do you even know what the chances are that they would just so happen to have a new guitar there that would remotely resemble your guitar at home in set-up ?? Yet you say you were ready to set down there and make a complete fool of yourself on a guitar you had never seen before?? give us a break here...did you ask anyone if you could play their guitar--"I doubt it"...Did anyone of the manufactors satisfy your needs that week--"I doubt it"..did you really come to buy that new guitar..."DITTO"
but what do I know?, I've never been to a convention...
