See that '2085' in the middle? That's the same number as my 2000 black Emmons LeGrande!
Is that karma or what?
(Thanks, Ken - I'll ask Mr B.)
Roger
according to Mr Brisco, my guitar was first shipped out in July 1996, so I have a feeling that your guitar is newer than mine - possibly 2000 too!

Aha! So my new guitar is getting on for twelve years old, eh?
It doesn't look it!
Ooops - we posted at the same time, Ken. I'd assume that Tommy's guitar would have been new when he first played it (June, '02) but I've sent Al a PM as you suggested.
None of this matters, of course, but I'm just a hoarder of useless information.

Hi Rog! June of 2002 is the correct purchase date of your Carter. I bought 2 new Carters. The Carter you now own and a red top/black front. Both guitars arrived within a few days of each other. I kept the one you now own, as it sounded and played the better of the two. If I remember correctly, I wasn't fond of the red colored mica Carter used. It had an orange tint. By the way, the Carter logo on your guitar is the original that came on it new.

Sorry for the duff assumption on your logo Roger - was based on the photo of Tommy with the Carter, but you can't get better info than from the man himself.

Please, Ken - your intentions were sound and I appreciate you responding.
Thanks, Tommy: interesting information!
I am enjoying the guitar but it hasn't yet been put to work - that'll change soon and I'll be playing it every night for fifteen weeks when I return to ND.
Thanks too, to everyone who's contributed to this thread. Now I'm going to think about selling one of my Emmons LG111s - there's a Gibson Super 400 that's tempting me....
Finally!!

I will be taking delivery of my "new" Carter D-10, 8+8, with E-66 p/u.
Sending seller a money order as soon as the post office opens today.
Man..,I can't wait to be playing it! She's a beauty.
The same grey I'm seeing here, with black finish on top side.
I will be playing 40 years, in 2015. Wow.
How much will this weigh? I have hand trucks, but I'm curious.
Thanks.
