I have just witnessed the formation of anew Steel Guitar Association! Reading these posts and seeing it all come together. I will miss the first jam (I'll be at he NE Iowa show) but I'm positive it's going to be a great show. And Ron is right - Don Helms would be a perfect choice for the show. Hope everyone can make it and watch history be made!

Miss Lana,
Thanks very much for your support. Sorry you will not be able to make it. We have Mr. Don Helms and Mr. Ron Elliot confirmed. Hopefuly the list will grow. For the people who have never visited the Hank Williams Museum in Montgomery, they will be in for a special treat. When they leave they will have felt Hank's presence. Mr. Helms has played here before. A very eriey feeling. Thanks again for your continued support.

Ken, Tell Ernie to bring the bus by your house and pick you up. I know Ernie is bringing a bus-load!! It is going to be a Super Show and will make a big page in History concerning our beloved instrument.

Bill,
It appears you have captured the attention of many players and others who enjoy the music of the steel guitar. I hope I will be able to attend some of your meeting when your club is formed. I invite you and all the others who have responded to your post to our steel guitar show Feb. 5th 2006. See my post on the forum to see who all will be there. Good luck with you ASGA. Hope to see you in Feb. Thanks

Bill Cook,

I may be moving to Pell City, Alabama in the next couple of months from California. My family has been in Tuskegee since before the Civil War. If I make the move, you can definitely count me in. I'll drive any amount of miles to be with steelers. I am a beginner, but learning fast.

Hey Bill,
This is the first time I have seen your post. Roger Crawford told me about it last weekend at our gig.

Count me in for your show if you need another picker. Why I might even let Ron Elliott carry my steel for me, AGAIN.

Bill, Thanks. The support from the GaSGA is mind boggling. Glad to have you with us. We may need some advise on our Sound system also. Ron, you nor Bill have to worry about carrying Rigs, as, we will have people to carry them for you. Proud to announce we have booked the SALUDA BAND as back-up. Woody Ledford, Johnny Thomas, Wayne Smith and Wayne Stowers. Folks, this one is going to be first class all the way.

Gang,
A person is interested in recording parts of Jam to make a TV Documentary. Don't miss out on this opportunity. Also interested in recording individuals onto a DVD for players to leave their Grandchildren etc. More details to follow.

Bob,
Our meeting is set for noon followed by an informal Jam. I expect the meeting to last no longer than an hour. I heard you play Patsy Cline in Montgomery. An excellent Show. I even got to dance with Celeste!! Hope to see you Saturday.

Bill Simmons is supposed to play. Man, you talk about a steel picker. This man knows what he's doing! I can't wait to hear him.

Bill, how many steels you got now, 20? 30? Image

Tyler, After listening and watching you on Sunday, I told Bill Cook he needs to invite you to play a slot! Don't be surprised if/when he calls you. You did a great job on that Fessy.
I was on that Derby (unfortunately; not the Derby, my spot in the rotation) right next to you. I thought about moving over between Dennis and Leon, but that wouldn't helped me either. I hate Bill Simmons couldn't make it. But, if he had, based on the set up, I'd been right between you and Bill. Whewww!!! Image

Tim, I wasn't going to say anything, but Bill did call me, and I took a slot at the show. I appreciate your complements and helping me get a place in the show. Now all I need is some songs to play! Image I'm sorry about you having to sit by me, that means you heard all those wrong notes before anybody else. I had a great time Sunday, and I will be back. I'm looking forward to this Saturday, and I'm really excited about playing my first show.

By, the way I really don't know what I'm doing, that's just how good that Fessy is. It's all in the guitar! Image
