Bob-As you well know, I wish I could be there at the PSGA show. I would really enjoy seeing all you guys.
I lost track of all the years that I have been a member over 30 years(33-34??) and recieving your excellent Newsletter on steel guitar activities.
I would like to see all the Steel Guitar Forum Members join up and subscribe to the Newsletter even if they cant get to Norwalk for the show. (just $27.00 a yr).

I look forward for mine in the mail every month. Thanks Bob,Jeff,John,Darlene,Doug,Tom,......al

Thanks Al for your endorsement of our efforts over the past 33 years. Word of mouth is always the best advertisement. I'm sorry you're not able to be with us. But I know you'll be there in spirit.
Mike Sweeney: You and Teresa have a safe trip to CT. The WX forecast is good for the weekend. There's still some fall foliage to brighten the area and temps are in the 60's by day and in the 50's at night.

Thanks to everyone who was with us for our PSGA 33rd anniversary celebration. The steel playing was exceptional, as was the musical support provided by the back up musicians. The audience was most appreciative, to say the least.
Needless to say, without the help of our staff of 18 volunteers, the show wouldn't happen. Jeff DeMaio deserves a big pat on the back for putting the whole thing together and making it work.
BTW, the Monday edition of the Stamford Advocate (the daily newspaper for southwestern Connecticut) devoted a lot of space to our show, including color photos of Herby Wallace, Bob Taillefer and "Fooch" Fischetti. The Advocate honored us once before, in 1994, which featured a color photo of Jimmy Day on the front page.
The dates for next year's show are November 10th and 11th (Veteran's Day 2007).

Well, we made it home in one piece! What a drive, but it was worth every minute of it to be able to come back to Norwalk. Thank you to Bob, Jeff, Mike Gross, the wonderful band and all the staff for having us back and making it such an enjoyable weekend. Teresa and I will be looking forward to the next time.

Bob, Is there any way of posting a link to the article in the paper? It would be neat to see it?

Mike,
Great to see that you made it back home.
Thanks so very much for your mention and nice comments. As I said in another post, it was both you wonderful artists and the work of the PSGA staff that combined to make it a monster year.

Craig:
I received the e-mail from Jeff DeMaio with a JPEG of the Advocate photos. I attempted to find the article on the Advocate web site, to no avail. All they had was a concert in Norwalk honoring their veterans on 11/12/2006.
Sorry, but perhaps someone with more computer expertise can come up with something. I'd sure like to view it, since I only received a portion of it.
BTW, Jeff and the Gunsmoke band will be on their way to Nashville since they are scheduled to perform on the WSM Midnight Jamboree this Saturday night.

Hey Bob (and Debra)Taillefer.......Your color photo made it into the Stamford Advocate newspaper, Monday 11/13/2006 Edition. Congratulations! The Advocate, owned by the Tribune Corporation, is the #1 daily publication in Southern Connecticut. So several million subscribers viewed it. You have had the honor of sharing the Advocate stage with Herby Wallace, Fooch Fischetti and the late Jimmy Day!
Good job job, well-done.

I E-mailed a jpeg file of the Advocate blurb to Howard R. hoping that he will be able to publish it on his post of PSGA Show photos, since it's not within my computer expertise to do so. Thanks again to the folks at the Advocate for their coverage of our event, It's a fine publication and they do know how to cover local events. ( I worked for CBS news for 28 years and know the difference between national and local coverage).
The Pedal Steel Guitar Association exists to expand knowledge about the steel guitar and to make the general public aware of the wonderful music than can be obtained by playing our chosen instrument.
