Joe, I hope they get lucky and find the scumbags that got your equipment ant they get to go visit Bubba. There is a couple pawn shops that I visit tocheck on deals, I have never found, and of course keep an eye open.
Benny Couch a steel playing friend of mine here in Amaillo had his house broken into 2-3 months ago and took about everything but his guitars and Amps. He got lucky but still feels raped.
On an up note, my friend Chuck Back is about done with my Desert Rose D-10. Should be done the middle of next month. Running a little behind but then most folks are. This is the first of his new series, I'll have it in Dallas in March, God willing, so he can show it off a little. I hope it is half as good as I think it will be.
Good luck on your equipment.

Having once lost everything (D-10 & Standel) I sympathize with you. It happened at a time in my life when I was already financially strapped, so it was especially cruel.
However, I recovered and eventually repaid the equipment that was lost plus the equipment that I had to buy to replace it.
I'm OK now, but I would still like to "meet" the scumbag that was responsible.

Well I got one back. The one that belonged to La Rue's is now back in my possession. I had to pay a pawn shop $60 which is what he bought it for out right. It was not a pawn item ----- we found it on ebay.
Mine is still gone.
Thanks keep lookin'

Hi Joe.
Sorry to here about loss. I'm from Europe and there is one thing I dont understand: why do you have to buy your possession back from the pawn shop. I always thought, if someone deals (knowing it or not) with stolen goods he has to give them back to the original owner if he can prove his title, without getting compensation.
Regards
Joerg

Jorg - That's what I thought till week before last. It is a law in most states now if it is unknowingly you have to pay. You can take them to court to try to prove it is knowingly but that costs more that the $60.

Actually, in The Netherlands it's the same: if someone buys something in good faith, and couldn't have suspected the item is stolen, he can keep the item. However, I would say that if you buy a steel guitar for $60.- you can almost be shure that there is something smelly.
