Was it Mark Knopfler's influence that got Paul Franklin on the Neck & Neck album? Seems like Chet could have nixed the steel on that project if he had a dislike for it.

Jimmy Crawford cut several songs with Chet, some pretty wild ones around 1970, I thought "Huntin' Boots" was one of them.
Anyway, I know personally that Chet loved steel guitar.
