I know Rick Johnson has done some relic'd cabs.

I tried to talk my WA cab builder into doing it - but he wan't interested. I would be very hard to relic new tolex without it looking stupid.

I took delivery of my '61 Vibrasonic yesterday - and it has a beautiful filthy patina of road grime and sticky club-muck all over it (as well as a few holes in the cloth and tears in the tolex). Absolutely beautiful.

I don't think you could replicate that in a relic'd job, the same way as you could with a guitar. I'm waiting for the relic'd pedal steel rebuilds!
