HI Glenn and everyone glad you had a great time sure wish I could have been there.I just heard from my good freind Manny Escobar and he said he had a great time and enjoyed the MASGA Jam.He like the way that it is run and that all levels of player play. That is the right way to have a succesful Steel Guitar Jam.That is what we do here in Rhode Island for our New England Steel Guitar Jams let all level steel players play.It sure will be great to move back where we have a lot of good freinds.Keeping our fingers crossed we have a buyer going for financing and we should know something this week.Hopefully we will be moved down by Mid June if not before.

A great time was had by all. It was my first steel jam in quite a few years. Thanks to Herby for asking me to sing. I really appreciate the kind words and confidence. Tommy Dodd was on fire. I have heard him play through the years, but this was my first time to really pay attention and listen. It was a great inspiration and I have been putting in extra practice ever since. Thanks to the many old friends who came up and expressed their gratitude for the years I spent with the Emmons Company. I have been bitten by the bug and I hope to work something out soon and return to the steel business in some capacity. Until then please keep the faith!

I would like to thank MASGA Secretary Glen Lanning for the warm hospitality at the steel guitar Jam on April 11, at the Moose Lodge in Kannapolis. Other names that deserve high regards are; President ER Chandler, Vice President Kevin Robins, and Karl Epling. After I witnessed the accomodating of all levels of skills from beginner to precision steel picking, this R.I. "Yankee Hacker" was eager to join. With celebrities like Herby Wallace and Tommy Dodd putting the "icing on the cake", it resulted in a fun day long time. Also it was an honor playing with the great back-up band, along side smooth style gospel picker Glen Lanning and none other than the winner of the St. Louis "American Idol", Joe Turner. Speaking of Joe Turner, I understand that he is one of the headliners for the August Jam. WOW!

Pictures of the MASGA jam at Kannapolis have been posted on our web site. If I have forgotten anyone, I'm sorry. If you have a picture you would like to include, please email it to me in the highest possible resolution and I will add.
The next MASGA jam will be in Thomasville, North Carolina on August 8th. Details will be coming!
The Kannapols jam was a "LARGE" success with players from Tennessee, North & South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, & Rhode Island!

Well, Donna and I are finally back home in Acworth after our trip to Kannapolis (and then a little detour to Montgomery, Ala.). And we just wanted to say thanks to E.R., Glen, Carl, and all the fine folks with the MASGA for making our trip to North Carolina another wonderful experience. The music was great, the venue was great, the food was delicious, and the people were the friendliest and nicest you'd ever want to meet. We know how much work it is to put on a steel guitar show so we really appreciate all the efforts put forth by the organizers of this fine show in Kannapolis. Please put my name back on the list for a future date soon. We'd love to come back!
