Do you any of you Ohio steelers know a player named Gary "Jake" Jacobs? He is an old friend from Pittsburgh I would like to get back in touch with. The last I heard he was managaing a machine shop in SE Ohio and playing steel on the weekends. We go back to the early 70's.

I just want to thank everyone that made the O.S.G.A. ( Ohio ) jam a great place to be Saturday . The crowd was down , we think because of Mothers day weekend . The music was hot though . Mr. Lonnie Kuntz of the Mike Sigler show stopped in and played and sung some songs for us and we appreciate that so much . Mr. Sonny Curtis ( the O.S.G.A. first member )and Leland Darst were awsome to say the least . Leland is a new O.S.G.A. member and we appreciate him very much . They had their Emmons guitars sounding just great . As a matter of fact the Emmons guitars had us ''outnumbered'' ! Tamara James had her new Performance guitar and Gary Phillips had his Rains , Gary Steele had his M.S.A. Mike Wilson had his Emmons , Bob Allen with his Mullen , Lonnie Wells with his Emmons ,Jeff Harbour had his G.F.I. and yours truly with my trusty Sho~Bud Pro-ll Custom . Marvin Born played guitar along with Jerry Miller and Denny Mosleys guitar player Gary Scott . A ''Special ''thanks goes out to Denny Mosleys band for being the ''Staff '' band along with Vernon George doing a great job on Bass guitar . Without all the backup musicians it would be hard to have a jam like we did ,''Thanks ,Thanks and Thanks ''. A special thanks to everyone who worked the jam . The ladies did a great job doing the things they do with food , collecting dues ,selling shirts , etc. We are blessed to have the ladies to help out while we play and watch . The food was great ,thanks to all that donated . We are looking at July for the next jam so start planning early . God bless you all . Gary .

Just to let everyone know i talked to Leland Darst about doing a Seminar for us and he said yes . I will let everyone know when this will be and the time .
Leland let me be a part of the meeting with Dan Galysh and Sonny Curtis at Cracker Barrel last Thursday evening and it was a blast . We had a great time of talking steel guitar and sharing stories . Dan also said when he had the time and was up this way that he would play for us . It's great to have Sonny and Leland as a part of the O.S.G.A. They play so well and have a great sense of humor . Just for fun ask Sonny if you can sit down and ''try'' to play his steel guitar . What a rude awakening ! It will make your head swim ! He will have to explain what it does . G.P.

Folks just let me say this . We are having some great steel guitar music at the jams lately . We now have a backup band that will be a regular part of the O.S.G.A.
We appreciate them so much . We have around a dozen steel players at all the jams and thats really great . We appreciate our beginners and are going to focus on them at the next jam . We want them to play the songs that they are comfortabe with . They are as big a part as anyone else and we love them . We appreciate Lonnie Kuntz that plays for the Mike Sigler Band for stopping by and playing and singing for us . Everyone is welcome . We are looking at July for the next jam so keep looking for the post . Best regards , G.P.

Hey folks , Dan Galysh is a very fine and accomplished player and has really played a HUGE role in getting me back into playing again. Dan was with Aarron Tippin for about 7 years, and on to work with Lee Ann Womack, and is now working with Rodney Atkins. Right now Rodney and the band are doing some tour dates with Brooks and Dunn. Dan Galysh is a long time freind of mine and as close as any brother could be to me. You'll enjoy his playing very much!
Thanks!
Leland

Dan you just don't know your own strength !
Sonny will be ok and back to playing soon !
Sonny is a real clown and a great guy to know . I might add a super fine steel player also . Yes it was great to share a little time with you and the guys . I may have to e-mail the President ( Bush ) and let him know that we would like a little more steel guitar in the next Memorial Day Celebration . L.O.L. I know it would knock your socks off ( socks ? ) Lets see now i could'nt see you that well the lead guitar player was in front of you ! Could there have been a reason for that ? L.O.L. My lips are almost sealed !

Hey Gary, where can I buy steel guitar strings locally here in Columbus Ohio when I need them in a hurry, seems that most music shops do not carry them anymore.
