Larry The playing area is inclosed on three sides. One side is open to outside seating. The Bar is inclosed. They have a wood burning stove that puts out some heat but its 30 feet from the bandstand. I pluged in an electric heater last year and blew a circut.I will wear thermal underware this year.

Guess I'll be pickin' with myself this year. This is the first New Year's Eve since 1962 that I haven't had a gig. Seems funny not to be playing! I work usually at least three nights a week with 3 different bands and none of 'em have a NYE gig. Oh well, you guys (and girls) who are playing have a great time, maybe at almost 68 it's time I stayed home more often............JH in Va.

I'll be filling the steel and keyboard chairs with "Deep Water" at the Moose club in Moberly, MO. You mid-mo folks come on out and kick up your heels. The same band is doing an early NYE show at the Kinder Lighthouse Theater on Saturday, Dec 29 and Lonnie Patterson (guitar player with the Jazzabillies at the Lake of the Ozarks) will be the guest six string player on that one.
Happy Holidays to one and all.

I'm playing my P/P Emmons at the American Legion Post 24 in Champaign with Greg Baker and the Backsliders. Yes, I'm a Backslider. We play traditional C&W, Ray Price, Merle, George Jones etc... just the kind of music that I love to play steel on. Its a fun band with great players and I can't think of a better way to bring in the New Year!I love playing this gig because it was one of the first places I started gigging with my old Sho Bud around 30 years ago. Lots of great people and plenty of fond memories.

Hey Joe, aren't the Drams the former Slobberbone? That's cool if your playing with those guys. I think Gary Carpenter played on a couple of Slobberbone CD's.
