Many things.

Post by Gordon Borland »

Many things don't exist. Nothing is one of them. We need the concept of nothing for language. Is God one of those things? To an atheist maybe. To me God IS all the rules there are. So that is not a concept All the rules exist so I call that sum God. Everything that exist is the result of all the rules that exist. Without all the rules you would then have nothing. Even in a place where matter does not exist the rules exist so there is something there. This topic shows how inflation works in the universe. Out of the concept of nothing comes everything. In reality out of all the rules comes everything. The fact is I know nothing, which is stupid because nothing does not exist.

Gosh, Gordon, how can anyone comment on all that without getting into a theological discussion, which is not the purpose of this Forum. You're right, to someone who believes in an almighty being or life force which created everything else, "nothing" is impossible, because it assumes the absence of an immortal being, and, without that immortal being, nothing could have been created by it. :\

I remember that, during the est training, they mention that "everything" includes "nothing". But they are incorrect, and I mentioned this to Werner, who I was working with at the time, that "everything" cannot contain its own absence, and that "nothing" has no meaning other than the "absence of thing."

I'm confused.
I have stuff.
I try to make music with it.
Sometimes it works.
Sometimes it doesn't.
But I keep on trying.

That's the first step towards wisdom. The next step is to accept one's own limitations and the limitations of everyone else and realise that none of us knows very much in reality. Most of what we believe to be is just assumptions.

Well Allen it did not stop you.
Nothing will stop you me thinkth.
Seems I would have heard form b0b had I offended the Forum.

You can call the sum of all the rules whatever you want. I just mention what I call them. I just go for the humor just as some folks may view this back and fourth between you and I as a battle of the twits over .   :lol:nothing!

Twits of the world unite. You have nothing to gain but your sense of humour.

Just thinking about how funny this topic is. It would seem that it involved every member of the forum. Those that posted and those by omission that did not. Those that did not, for what ever reason, posted nothing. I find that profound.

You'll notice that Bob, himself, rarely comments. He's smarter than any of us. It's a matter of "light the blue touch paper and run."

Question: How do you think the unthinkable?

Mike Tyson's answer: "With an ithberg."
A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first.
