Donna, while I like David A.

I think David C. is more prepared for the job at hand.
He is an adult controling his own music.

And has no stage father attempting to control a 16 year old.

David A. will get lots of work, winning this isn't every thing.
He IS discovered, and once he hits 18,
he will no doubt be signable. But with his father
having signing control over him till then no
label will want him.... Not with dad leaning
over his shoulder the whole time.
If he was 10 or 12 and it was Micky Mouse Club
then he WOULD be signed.

The best performers are not usually the winners.
The ones that fit the profile sometimes are.

I would still have voted for Shyesha based on what I saw.
For what I saw and heard she smoked every body off the stage.
If I had to sign somebody to along term contract it would be her.
DLD, Chili farmer. Plus bananas and papaya too.

Real happiness has no strings attached.
But pedal steels have many!

Sort of like a soap opera where you
get emotionaly involved with utter strangers
till you throw the cat at the TV in frustration.

This is a soap opera with real people putting
their WHOLE LIVES on the line, and at the disposal of
the viewing public's lowest common denominator...

But there is a prize to be won,
by a total stranger that you will never meet,
so root for the most likable stranger,
to validate you won personal tastes,
and then be upset when the
'American viewing public'
votes for music with their sex organs
and not their ears.

And then there is the manufactured,
overly drawn out SUSPENSE!!!
With Slow, Minor Key Music!
Ah yes, THIS is entertainment!!

Yes dear, that singer needs another turn on the spit.
She's not quite properly broiled yet!
Do you want another wine cooler while I am in the kitchen?

Funny, but can y'all imagine this
crossed with Big Brother.

With REALLY bad singers singing it in Sanskrit,

And trying to act like Whitney Houston or LL Cool J,
while dressed like a fashion school drop out's wetdream

and the PA can't be heard so they can't sing on key....

Academy FantAsia...
going into its 3rd year...

Thanks Doug
- I've always known that you would be the nurturing kind when times got rough. Every forum should be so lucky!!;-)

David D.
- you're probably right about David Cook being more prepared for the title and all that is required. Good observations regarding the contestants, too!!

Donna, I think David Cook's got a good future and David A. will probably get a record deal even though he didn't win. I'm proud for the ones who were voted off too because they gave it their best and they tried hard, even if they didn't go to the finals.

I was shocked when David A did not win,but I do agree with "David".David Cook was on "Larry King" and his television presence was very "professional".He seems to have a good head on his shoulders, and knows where he is going. David A on the other hand is still a favorite of mine, and I am sure we will be hearing about him.
"Syesha" well I think she should have made it a long time ago.She lights up the stage!
When these finals all tour together they will all learn a little more about this biz, and from that they will all become better.
Its been a "Great Season" I am looking forward to next year!

I'm sad David A. didn't become American Idol this season.
Hat's go off to all who tried and got fame & to all that will get record deals in the future. :)

Good season & Good talent I too can't wait until next season! :)

Laugh if you will, BUT...several points to make,The Ricky Minor Band is awesome! Music is being played on national television, using live musicians (including a pedal steel guitar on occasion). :)
