Did Hippies Hurt or Help American Music?
To be specific, "If You Are Going To San Francisco" was probably my favorite song of that era. But, I liked Petula Clark's recording of the song much better than Scott McKenzie's. Petula Clark was never a hippie, but apparently she liked the song too.

Tom, I would agree with you if so many people didn't vote for what they feel, rather than what they know.

How could we be sure (to some degree) that people would vote for what they know?
By making voting a priviledge, rather than a right. You don't have the right to drive a car on the roads of your state. You have the priviledge if you take an eye test, a written test, and a driving test.

Why won't we ever have a civics test and a current events test to qualify voters in this country?

Gross, gross distortion of the word, "freedom".

We did --they were part of the "Jim Crow Laws".
