I actually bought a tenor to play the flute lick from Canned Heat's `Going Up The Country`.
Arch.
"Going Up the Country" is virtually a cover of the song "Bull Doze Blues" recorded by Henry Thomas in the late 1920s, the flute solo taken note by note from the original.[2] Thomas accompanied himself on guitar and quills, an early Afro-American instrument similar to panpipes. The melody that Thomas played on the quills was reproduced on the flute by multi-instrumentalist Jim Horn for the recording of "Going Up the Country".
Who said you learn nothing here!

Of the first 10 threads in Humor, Roy Heap has 7 ! Is that significant or NOTHING ??

It means that he has a sense of humour.
Nothing beats it.
It also means, Roy, that you open up the "Humor" section to see if there's
anything there you haven't seen before, so you, too, must have a sense of humour.
Oops. I forgot, this isn't the
anything page.

Is there a difference between nothings? Is some nothing, more than other nothings, and what about less nothings being less than more nothings. I am confused about more nothing and less nothing. This thread is about nothing...right? But is it about more or less nothing???

Well there's more-or-less nothing in most posts.

Doing book research, I find my something (sorry) from King Lear:
Fool: Mark it, nuncle.
Have more than thou showest,
Speak less than thou knowest,
Lend less than thou owest,
Ride more than thou goest,
Learn more than thou trowest,
Set less than thou throwest;
Leave thy drink and thy whore,
And keep in-a-door,
And thou shalt have more
Than two tens to a score.
Earl of Kent: This is nothing, fool.
Fool: Then 'tis like the breath of an unfeed lawyer- you gave me nothing for't. Can you make no use of nothing, nuncle?
Lear: Why, no, boy. Nothing can be made out of nothing.

I once worked with a guy who had a live-in girlfriend named Caroline. He would sit at his desk singing "
Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina in the morning..."
