I never heard anything bad about the Gold Wing bikes.This one is brand new and it comes with 6 years warranty on everything.Rides great and handles great,I was suprrised,expecting it to be more clumsie and slow but this bike is fast and very quick in curves.My butt still hurts from this morning ride on ZZR,it was a great bike but not for me.If I was younger and slimer and in need for a chick magnet ZZR would be a perfect choice,but for me right now I think this is much more better way to go and it hurts less.I guess we don`t get any younger with time.

Your last bike was cool, but I can see why you love the GW.

Damir, beautiful bike. I have previously owned both an Interstate and an Aspencade, and they are everything you say as for comfort and luxury. Most of the long distance riding that my wife and I did was on those Goldwings.


......now you've caused me to begin to "slow down and sneak a look" into the front window of the local GW dealership when I drive by; that's the way the buying "bug" begins!

he,he,he..Gene,you`re right.I`m asking only one thing from you..post few pics of your new GW when you get it.If you had them before you know you want this one too.It is a 30th aniversary model and rides like a dream (but you already know that)have fun,keep on looking thru that window at your local GW dealership and you will see your bike smiling at you.When I said to the sales guy "that`s a lot of money" he answered with the best argument "you only go around once"..that was it,next thing I knew ,I was signing the paperwork.

I envy you guys for your proximity to curves and switchbacks. From where I live I can stand on tiptoe and see all the way to the Continental Divide......I have to ride at least a day to get away from the "flatlands". I guess thats why the Colorado Rockies have always been one of our favorite destinations.

My R McN S/W says its only 317 miles, probably 6-7 hrs. on a bike figuring a stop every hundred miles which is pretty much a necessity when traveling by motorcycle. No big deal.

I can't go this year.

We will have to get together soon, I would like to check out your new Gold Wing.

I ramble around loudly(it has open pipes) on this old /5 750 BMW cafe bike.

nice boxer, (good tone no doubt)looks British, I have a similar seat (Corbin) on my T140

That tank is intimidating. How many miles do you get between pit stops?

Yeah that tank is a monster, no doubt.....I think it holds 7 gallons.....I've never filled it up so I am not sure. Its a cool bike and used to be a vintage racer.....took 5th place at Daytona years ago(not me driving). It has a bigger cam than stock and really hauls on the upper end. The 'tone' from the open pipes is heavenly to my ears, especially wound up to about 6000 RPM's. I've had it about a year now and done nothin but put a little air in the tires and change the oil and plugs....could have skipped that really.

This is my first boxer and I have to say keudos to the Germans on their engineering.....simple and reliable.

Here is another cool bike, the "Honest Charley" built by Coker Tire Co. in Chattanooga, TN. It is another V-8 powered motorcycle. (That makes two V-8 motorcycles that are built in TN)

This one uses a fully reconditioned 1937 Ford Flathead about (1800cc's), an in and out box for a tranny, and chain final drive. It only weighs about 750 lbs. Nice bike! I heard they go for about 24 G's. www.honestcharley.com

well my nieces hubby got a vw trike. i liked it so i built one. then about 2 mos ago i traded it for a harley herritage softtail 93 model. like riding havn't been on a 2 wheeler for over 30 years. i like to cruse but not see how fast i can go. i feel uneasy over 60 mph so i decided to get rid of it and go back to a 3 wheeler. the one i am getting is a 2280 stroker vw engine with a 4 speed. fiberglass body. big trunk on the back. i belong to brothers of the 3 rd wheel it is a family kinda group and we have a lot of fun it is a international orgination. the closest chapter to me is 120 miles. trikes are great fun and unlimited to the customizing you can do to one. any other trikers out there give me a hollar. thanks doc.
