In some fairness to Nothing, a factor which might offset the counting posts is the fact that the ZB thread, by necessity, has to be large because it's so difficult to search for the word "ZB" within the Forum, whereas "nothing" is eminently searchable. People could theoretically post many different threads all about all of the myriad flavours, textures and varieties of Nothing and all of those threads could be searched for and found easily. The ZB enthusiasts need one nice convenient thread so all the ZB info and pics can be easily found without the benefit of the search function. So one could say that that thread is somewhat "padded" by nature.

Now, explaining how it is that Nothing has developed the extraordinary bulk and heft that it has (especially given what it is, or what it indicates or represents at least) is yet another matter!

Is talking about the topic itself also off-topic? Will we ever get to the bottom of any of these deep burning mysteries?

Which reminds me of something yet even further off-topic:

Teacher: "What's the difference between ignorance and apathy?"

Student: "I don't know, and I don't care!"

But I'm not counting...b0b is doing that for us...all I'm doing is copying the number to another place and that is really NOTHING !!

Are all wives in league or are they taught how to control men from an early age? :(
It must be one of those secrets passed down from mother to daughter over the generations, of which we men are told NOTHING. :whoa: :whoa: :whoa:

I'm not going to take sides with that, Alan...I heard a four year old grandson say at his first soccer practice where there were girls in the line-up...I like girls...They are nice..........and they're pretty !!

For a beginner, I think he has it all figured out. :D :D :D

I'm not sure what nothing looks like, but I know what it sounds like. I plugged my steel into my Vegas 400 this morning, picked a 10th fret 8-6-5 group, and nothing came out of the amp. After a couple of minutes of perspiration, I remembered that wifey unplugged it while cleaning last night.

Thanks to this forum I am learning many things about nothing. I already knew what nothing tastes like, and now I know what nothing sounds like. Does anybody know what nothing feels or looks like?
Mullen D-10 8x5; Sho-Bud Super Pro D10 8x6; PedalMaster 5 Star SD-10 3x5; Dekley D-10 8x4;
Sho-Bud S-10 3x1; Fender Lap/Floor Steel; Peavey Power Slide; Supro Lap Steel; Peavey Nashville 400;
pair of Peavey Vegas 400's; Peavey NV112; Webb 614E with matching extension cabinet; Fender Twin Reverb and 3 cats.

They laughed when I sat down to play, cause' somebody pulled my chair away...

It doesn't look like anything you've ever seen.

And as Manuel the bellhop from Barcelona would say, "I know nothing."

One is likely to conclude that NOTHING is nonexistant, since it is assumed that NOTHING is odorless, colorless, tasteless and even invisible.
But let me tell you, from my recent experience in a crowded elevator:
There was something that certainly was NOT odorless.
It seemed everyone on the elevator had a frown on their face, with the exception of one who wore a silly grin.
I have concluded when I suspect NOTHING, all of a sudden it can become something.
And, sometimes something that is almost unbearable.

If you conclude that this reply is tasteless, just ignore it __ if you can.

Chiseled In Stone

Post by Paul Graupp »

Well there's the stone...Now all we have to do is figure out how to bury this thread !! 5,000 people have viewed it since last I looked and 20 or more have posted NOTHING on NOTHING !! It must be a paradox or conumdrum or some such thing. But it can't be one of those because it is a NO THING !!

Regrets, Paul :( :oops: :cry:

It will always be a paradox because the word has several meanings. :roll:

"NOTHING" should be deleted permanently from our lexicon and from the dictionary.
...especially when it's used as a pronoun:
"I said NOTHING."
I remained silent?
or:
I said the word, NOTHING?

As an adjective or adverb, just say "NO THING".
