Awesome! I never get tired of hearing Lloyd Green. Watching his precision in action is really the icing on the cake.

What a fine treat. That's a good comment, b0b. It wasn't until I started to have a clue about playing steel guitar that I understood that playing as smooth and in the pocket as Lloyd's is NOT the result of lounging in your seat and being relaxed, casual. It is the product of tight precision.

Very well put Jon!

Hey my friend Robert,
I am still in the process of sorting through some of the videos and contacting the players.
Just keep an eye out in "Steel On The Web"
I have some surprises up my sleeve (the left one)
Merry Christmas

Thanks Bill, Lloyd and Scotty. This is absolutely masterful, heartfelt playing - as only Lloyd can do it! Wonderful!

In no particular order, this holiday season I am particularly thankful for 1) the Forum 2) YouTube and 3) Mr. Lloyd Green.

That volume pedal swell at the end of the first verse, was for me, totally memorable.

I have spent the past hour watching these clips, and I felt like a kid again. That is some of the best I've heard in a very long time.I'll watch this over and over I'm sure. This is the reason I'm learning to play the steel. What a sound, they are the masters....

Whew! That must be THE most tasteful playing I've ever heard, including all of Lloyd's own albums. It looks and sounds sooo effortless, which it of course isn't.
A song like that can so easily be ruined by "overdecorating", but not by Mr Green. 110 % good taste. My hat's off to the Master (whose playing got me started back in the seventies, and whose playing now makes me wonder why I even try...)

2nd bump -- and I can't believe no one beat me to it!
. . . but I guess I must be reasonable here, so there will be no third. Who will take the baton?

That's the heart and soul of pedal steel right there. Some of us stumble around trying to play other kinds of music on the instrument. But that sweet soulful country is what the instrument was made for, and you can sure tell it in that clip of Lloyd's masterful playing.
