I never got the impression Rick was trying to push/sell/spam the pickups. He is simply informing us (a forum of individuals who share the same interest) of a revolutionary design and product that you can't get anywhere else. Everyone talks about wanting the "moan"...well, folks, get a Horseshoe Magnet! It's a good thing Rick has devoted time and efforts toward making these awesome pickups....and, making them better than the originals!

Many Mahalos, Rick!!!!! Image

I second Andy and Howards thoughts about Rick. I spent some time with Rick this morning when I went to pick up my NS that he was so kind to do the pickup and install new pots and I don't see how he even breaks even let alone make any money. He won't even take any extra. He is a great guy and knows what he is doing. If the guy that is looking at my ricky doesn't buy it this Sunday I will be putting it on the forum for sale and someone will get a great guitar.

I know of no one who LOVES the steel guitar more than Rick Aiello, all types no matter what brand it is and in the long run his love will help all of us. Chuck

That's "mazel". Howard you need to get an Ashkenazic spelling checker. I'm sure that if you went back in time you'd be able to find one on the lower east side.

Mazel... (def.) Yiddish for luck, as in Mazel Tov (I wish you good luck)

Whadd'ya want? My tribe got lost somewhere in the desert....cut me a break!

BTW, there is absolutley nothing wrong, or against the law about making a profit if you are in business. This is still America, last time I looked.

Fortunately I didn't read the post of some negative minded soul who has nothing better to do than pick on Rick. [Hey...maybe I'm a poet and don't know it Image]. Let me just say that I have been communicating with Rick for several years. He is truly one of the most generous and selfless individuals I have ever known. He has truly befriended me on many occasions...and I find it really sad that anyone would think negatively of him or question his motives. I have an Excel Frypan retrofitted with one of his hoss shoe's. It was a dynamite addition. I'm deeply indebted to him for his help and generosity.

Speaking of his ingenuity...I don't believe there is anything he will not try to do...that is legal, I mean Image. For the challenge I think he would try to skin a live wildcat with a dull knife. I would bet on Rick. It wouldn't surprise me for him to invent the mystical perpetual motion machine. Of course they tought us in physics that the law of entropy declares it impossible. But don't tell Rick.

He is truly a generous gentleman...a fine human being; and oh yeah, a heck of a lap steel picker too.

However I'm not sure its a good idea to expose Howard to these strong magnetic fields. Image
btw: i'm rootin' for Rick and Ricks
for Mazel Tov one does need a good Horseshoe

Yeah and how about Jerry Garcia on pedal steel who tempered his tuning while breaking a G# jamming with Robert Randolph on a guitar that wasn't black that didn't have the illusive MOAN.

Sorry.
Rick's obsession is this forum's gain.

Any more mention of pedals, and I'm moving this thread.....(hello? Brad?)

Some people really don't get it. Rather than criticize his motives, we should declare Mr. Aiello a "priceless national resource" and fund his ongoing research. Until then, a simple "Thank you" will have to do.

The "Thomas Edison of Rickenbacher" label is a little risky. That man was deaf.

Yeah--Edison thought the lightbulb was an audio device.

Howard--is that Jerry Garcia or Colonel Sanders?

Something tells me Rick could care less about somone's panties getting soiled by his forum participation. He knows where he stands and where we (forum members, steel players, monster magnets) hold him (esteem-wise).
Can somebody point me to the post that necessitated this thread?
