Santa brought me my mother-in-law, some new boots, a new watch and several other items. I got to spend Christmas at home this year with Joan, my mother and Joan's mom. Oh, and I finally got in them 36 waist wranglers.

Not a lot in the way of music stuff, but I did get Vince Gill's "These Days" CD's. They've got Paul, Buddy and John all over 'em!

I told my kids I would like any CD of John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Vince Gil, or Patty Loveless. Instead of going out and buy me the CDs, they downloaded them online. The problem is, they know nothing about jazz or country music, so they just loaded the tracks randomly on a couple of CDs. So now I have John, Miles, Vince and Patty all mixed up together. You never know which one is coming up next. Image Well, bless their little hearts, they tried. Image

I'm getting myself a Berg Larsen stainless steel baritone sax mouthpiece. Image

Larry Strawn e-mailed me a little while ago. He said that Santa finally showed up and so did the Carter. I think he really thinks Santa brought it to him. Don't tell him that it was me and Bobby Boggs.

I had a nice family Christmas and Santa was good to all of us, but this year I gave myself something a little extra: An original 1968 Fender telecaster CASE for my '68 tele! I've been looking for one for a year and I just happened to find this the day after Christmas. December is the month for miracles!

Ole' Santa didn't quite make it for Christmas, but he went ahead and sent it by Fed-Ex. So it got here on Thursday. I must say that Chuck Back is doing A beautiful job on his guitars. Mine is A D-10 wood, blue in color and, perfect in every way. And I did not have to wait A year or two for it. Thanks Chuck, J W Day

Best wishes for the New Year for all. You too Justin. Ha

For Christmas I was hoping Santa would have some "chops" in that big ol' bag of his that he might bring me, but no such luck. So it's back to the old-fashioned, Smith-Barney way. I got nothing musically related, but then, I didn't really need anything. (I can't believe I said that)
