I have been doing a lot of gospel music with my very small group, we play for chruch & benifits for folks in need. Most of it is done for free and we don't even mind!! I play steel & do a couple with the tenor saxophone, & sing a couple myself but we have one guy that just sings & he is much better at that than I am, however, I do like playing backup on the steel. I do several steel instrumental with the group. I better add that my wife sings & plays tambourine, crazy huh?? But when doing things for a 'Higher Power' its all worth it.

I played piano at my church for about four years and now we are blessed with a piano player and Greg Zimmer on steel and I am playing guitar. Once or twice a month I fill in on piano. There are two thirteen year old boys that I am teaching that play with us also. One plays bass and the other plays guitar.

I always said that playing in church didn't pay much, but the retirement benefits are out of this world.

Hello Albert, haven't seen you since I can't remember when?
I play almost weekly somewhere. Playing three times this week. I also play bass in our church services. I have been playing steel since about 1980. Played bass prior to that. I put my guitar up about 1990 because groups went to tapes. I played some family friendly country music shows for about 6 years for practice and fun and had more than I could stand of country music (it has no redeeming value to it)and I along with two other members quit doing that. I play for a couple of groups who call me from time to time and I really enjoy it. This Sunday while the race is going on at the Talladega Speedway I will be playing at a concert.
