I have Jane Fonda's "Workout Behind the Steel" video. Includes balancing seated on your pack-a-seat on top of a ball while doing crunches. Some interesting thigh exercises with the vertical knee level(interval training: ever try holding that sucker up for a minute with your feet off the ground" She uses pedal rods for some posture and flexibility work also. Plus other weight and resistance training techniques with the steel. I never knew that a steel could also function as a personal training machine

I was watching CNN about a year or so ago and they we're talking about weight. They had a chart that showed where the standards are for being overweight and obese. To my surprise, I found out that I was obese. I am 6 feet tall and at the time I weighed 225, but I'm big framed. Yeah I know, that's what everyone says. Always, thought of myself as being overweight. hummm

well if your really trying to loose weight the best thing you can do is 1.) stay away from fied foods. this means hambrugers cooked in the skillit etc. 2.) stay away from white flower. flower truns to sugar in your system. it didn't bother people in the old days because they worked it off. but now days we have things so easy and they keep commin up with easier ways to do things so we don't have to work so hard. like cranking up a window is so much harder than pushing a button. i am just having to retrain myself of how to eat and what to stay away from and that staying away from some things is really tough.

I'm 6 ft, weigh 155 lbs and my favorite food is peanut butter on whole wheat toast. But, I'm getting better. I used to look like a walking x-ray.

Lee,
My kids use to say that I was't fat, just pleasantly obese. All I know is when you work up a sweat puttin' your socks on, it's time to do somethin' about it.
Guys and Gals, we all make jokes about this issue, but some of us need to get more serious. Ten years ago, I had by-pass surgery and then got serious about getting healthy and losing weight. I lost about seventy pounds and felt great. Being an avid golfer,I celebrated the anniversary of my surgery by walking 36 holes and enjoying every minute of it. For those who know me, it's obvious that I didn't keep the weight off. I still feel good and have lots of energy, but I know I would feel so much better 80 pounds lighter. It's time!!!
Happy New Year everybody, let's make this a healthy one.

"Horizontally Enhanced" "Anundant American" Very funny. I like the ones for bald guys being "follically challenged" or "combing impaired". Oh, how about the man who suffers from Dunlap's disease. His belly done laps over his belt
I am also stuck by how many here do take their weight seriously and would like to do something about it. For a variety of reasons, including watching my father's excess weight cause diabetes and eventually death, I have studied diet, excercise, nutrition, etc. for many years. As a result, I have discovered that there is no magic diet or excersize regimen that will bring weight off on a permanent basis. A logical lifestyle and resolve is the only thing that works. If I take my family's history, lifestyle, etc., I should be about 40 Lbs overweight. I am able to stay at about 8 Lbs over. I have definitely lowered some risk factors but I need to drop at least the 8. Very interesting are the studies that have been done on "calorie reduction" lifestyles. Basically it says that intake of 30% under the RDA for calories can prolong life by 30%. And virtually no illness or disease. Almost impossible to do though. Because food is such an important part of our lives, we face a decision of whether to enjoy ourselves for less time or live longer and not give in to the temptations and gratification of quick, tasty and easy-to-get food.
"Pack-a Seat as a piece of workout equipment" I LOVE IT!

I have seen and heard a few large professional players at some of the conventions. They always seem to get a real big "FAT" sound with a lot of "BOTTOM". I'm on my way there, now if I only could only play like them and get their tone.
