Without any reference to Archie, I'd also like to mention another side of this which may determine the frequency of posts from the top pros.

All of the top players, the "creme de la creme" are in a very sensitive position on an open public forum. They must be careful of what they say and how they say something because it is very easy to be misconstrued, quoted out of context, and caught up in banalities. They are under the scrutiny and magnifying glass of the masses and may be very sensitive about this.

It's one thing to meet someone, sit at a table with them and have a real life conversation. It is quite something else to be in the center of an arena with posts flying in at you from all directions.

The top players are in their own strata. Those who occasionally answer our questions are like Prometheus bringing fire to mankind.

Look what happened to him.
[This message was edited by HowardR on 10 April 2005 at 05:42 AM.]

I had the pleasure to meet Paul Franklin at the Texas show and found him to be a very polite individual. I would imagine his work days are just as long as anyone else, then you throw in his family and private life and he would be pressed for time just as many of us here are. I appreciate Paul for the time he does take to answer questions here on this forum. The talent he posesses to play the steel is awesome and now he is setting the standard for steel players today. We are blessed to have such a fine man in Paul Franklin to look up to. I might add that his mother and father are first class people as well and I found them to be very friendly and certainly proud of their son.

Paul has been such an inspiration to me. I can't believe I am so lucky as to be on the south end of his advice and his opinions. He is truly one who cares and it shows. And really the same goes for a lot of the others I haven't mentioned who post frequently.

When Paul Franklin does retire, I am sure he will have an "Ask Paul" website like Buddy Emmons. Then all questions will be answered. :}
