On 23 October I asked Bobbe if he had pedalbar decals for Emmons and Sho-Bud Guitars. I also said, that if he had the decals, I would place a big order with him.

He replied that he did not have them

On 28 October Stephen Gambrell thanked Bobbe for the Emmons decals.

On 1 November I emailed Bill Donlin to find out where he got his Emmons decals from. The reply was: Steel Guitar Nashville.

Needless to say that my order of almost $1000 went straight to Al Brisco and not to Bobbe Seymour.

I'm as choicy about who my customers are as you are about who you buy from, Peter. I reserve the right to sell to whom I wish. You just don't happnen to be on the list. Al Brisco is a good friend, just don't treat him like you do me and you'll be able to deal with him a lot longer than you did with me. Dealers aren't the only folks that need to have good reputations; customers do too. It takes two people to deal, the customer is 50% of it. As you can see by this thread, I try to serve my friends and all nice folks to the best of my ability. I have never ever gotten anything out of you but arguments, sarcasm, threats and rudeness. I can see here now, as can everyone else, that you are a very negative person and have nothing good to say about anyone unless it tears down someone else. Frankly, by the emails I've gotten from several frends and customers, you don't have many close friends in any part of the steel guitar world. This is a shame Peter because I think you are quite intelligent, but, this intelligence would be better served if it were channeled in a more positive direction.
My choice is not to sell to you, now or ever. Do me a favor and support my friends until you turn on them and they cut you off also. Practicing maturity here may serve you well in the future.
Now let's see what sarcastic response you can muster.

To end this post with something positive, I'd like to thank everyone else for the wonderful thread. Yes, I do give away a lot of things as a way of saying thank you for being good friends and customers. This will continue to be done as long as I'm in business. I deeply thank you all very much and wish to see you all either in my store or at some of the great steel guitar shows around the country.

Generous? I didn't see you buy a round of drinks in Ireland. But there again I suppose you were the Guest.
You're the best Bobbe.

Not that Bobbe needs MY support here, but I'm bound to say that some of Peter's correspondance with Bobbe has been extremely discourteous. Mr. Seymour can be a little blunt at times, and I don't always agree with him, but I don't think he's ever been rude.

I can understand why he chooses not to do business in this instance.

What Roger R said. I have been witness to some of the conversations between Peter and Bobbe, especially on Bobbe's defunct Forum, and wondered to my soul why Bobbe could or would continue to discuss business dealings with Peter. Such sarcasm and rudeness would never have been tolerated by this old man. The conversations would have been curtailed tremendously had I been in Bobbe's position.

It takes a lot of determination on a dealer's part to try to convince clients that the customer is always right and in most of those conversations between the two, Bobbe was very softspoken in his comments to say the least.

Jabs in the eye with a sharp stick somehow makes one lose interest in leniency. Doesn't appear that the 1000 bucks spent with Al bothers Bobbe too much, and I'm sure Al appreciates it. Never had anything but goodness from Steel Guitar Nashville. Just my dime's worth.

Just because I was given the right to "freedom of speech" on Bobbe's uncensored, now defunct forum, Bobbe Seymour refuses to sell anything to me. Bobbe Seymour therefore lost a $1000 deal.
That makes perfect business sense to me. Image

In addition, this year I purchased a Sho-Bud D10 ProIII Custom, as well as a D10 Emmons Push-pull. Needless to say I did NOT buy these beautiful instruments from Bobbe Seymour.
So he lost 2 more deals.
That makes perfect business sense to me. Image

Like everybody else, I have a long list of very reliable dealers.
Now that makes perfect business sense to me.

"That makes perfect business sense to me."

Makes sense to me too Peter. Looks like it's just indicative of the fact Bobbe has something some folks lack, it's called Principle. Guess the "dummy" just believes in meeting some kind of standard in his character. I sure don't want to get into a urination contest with you, but man there's some things lots of folks don't condone; warm beer, wet toilet tissue, and cheap shot artists.

This topic was started to stipulate one man's opinion that "Bobbe Seymore is generous", and that opinion was pretty well held by all until you tried to pour bumble bee pi$$ all over it. One doesn't stand by and let that happen to a friend unless they're really not a friend. That too hard to understand on the African continent? Not here. Image

Hey Bobbe,
Good to see you here on the forum. I visit your well organized website on several occations and each time I visit, it seems to get better. I have even written you E-mail aon a few occations. Indeed, You do have a lot of great bargains. I enev snatched a pic of a Sho-Bud that you had for sale a few months ago(a yellow oldie but goodie). I wish that I felt that I could afford one of your Tee-shirts that has a pic of a double neck Steel on it. It looks real cool but I am temporarly unemployed at the time to help care for my 89 yr.old Mother who has Macular Degineration and can't drive(taking her to various Dr.s appointments and some other activities). Maybe one of these days, I will call or E-mail you and order it. Anyway keep up the good work and if I can ever get to the Nashville area, I will definatly look you up.

Your friend,
Gregg

I think the moral of this story is, "I'd rather give a nice person something free than make a lot of money on someone that isn't nice".

Money is not the most important thing in my life, if it were, I'd probably be making a lot more, but I think I'm a lot happier dealing with the nice people of my choosing.

I love helping new players, and anyone that loves this great musical instrument the way I do. I love playing it, talking about it, working on them and most of all, I love the way it brings it's great fans together.

Very seldom does some very strange, mean and rude charictor surface to enrage the folks that love this instrument so much, but when this happens, we can choose to endure or choose to "not deal" with the person. Money has nothing to do with it. I can't be bought. (very easily anyway, Ha!)

So I ask you good people of the forum, please don't be upset by this person that loves to aggrevate us. Just accept what he is, laugh and go on. Life is too short to be unhappy about anything you don't need to be unhappy about.
Thank you again, I appreciate my friends very deeply.

You don't need the business?
Great! Image That means everything is allright then? Image

You continue playing with perceptions.

I will continue presenting the facts.
(I am just the "messenger"; that is never "nice")

Oh, I almost forgot:
Thank you, Bobbe, for sending me all those items a couple of months ago.
They are really useful. Image

Peter,
Can it, OK? If you don't like Bobbe, or anybody else, it's your God-given right not to include them in your circle of friends. But PLEASE don't use my name in your childish gloatings, which should be left off here anyway. Bobbe Seymour is a good guy, who's never been anything but cordial, encouraging, and free-hearted with most of us. The rest, he tells to take a hike, as you've found out. Al Brisco has also offered great advice, for free---the steel guitar world is filled with guys who'll help a beginner like me all they can---but they won't, and don't have to, take any junk.

I want to say, besides being a generous person, Bobbe is probly the best steel player I've ever heard. I got the CDs and video he sent me, and I was flattened by his playin. He can make the steel guitar do anything he wants it to do. He's very versital(sp). He can make it sound like he's playin on a six string by playin Chet atkins style. He can even make it sound like a fiddle. I know he done it with an effects unit, but that's the first time I've heard anybody make one sound like a fiddle, and a six string.. I hope to make it to Nashville some day, and meet the steel guitar magician. Image

Why can't we just get along.

If Bobbe does not want to do bussines with you Peter then so be it.That's his good right.I don't know what happened or what's been said between the two of you.(I don't even want to know)
But what I don't understand is that you are dragging him thru mud so that everybody can witness this.
Why not try to solve this like adults.
