this is the book I've been waiting for since I started playing lap steel.

I was at Scotty's today and saw a stack of Andy's new book. Beautiful, cover to cover. Couldn't take one home just yet, so I sat a good 25 minutes reading what I could. Great great stuff!

I read mine cover to cover flying between Seattle and LA (and vice versa) last week. On the first leg the guy next to me was a music teacher who was really intrigued by the history; on the way home one of the flight attendants began reminiscing about her grandfather and his Dobro.

I just got mine on Saturday. It's a deep book with a lot of useful information, beautifully laid out and well organized. Some great interviews with famous and obscure musicians, all of whom should be better known thanks to this book.
Andy's book deserves to be up there with Lorene Ruymar's as a standard reference for steel guitarists.

Great job. I wish there had been a book like this a long time ago. Man I keep on learning, reading Andy's masterpiece.

I got my copy a couple of days ago and it looks fantastic! Nice work Andy. I can see that you put a LOT of hours into this project. Wow! I am impressed. I like the inclusion of contemporary lap steel players...rock, blues, and sacred steel players. It truely is a 2003 perspective, as it should be, and it pays homage to the Masters of the past as well. There's a lot of information in this book. I particularly like the inclusion of each players' Tunings.

I finally got to my book. It really is awesome. I only had about 10 minutes with it so far (need some more toilet time), but from the interviews I skimmed, it seem to answer questions that haven't been asked in the past. Many of these people have been interviewed before, but the questions and answers always seem the same - I like the interviews I've read so far. Great stuff Andy.

Got my copy in the mail today. Thanks for the fast delivery, Andy. Just started reading it, but looks great. Good job with the content, graphics, layout and printing. This is one, like the Smith Fender book, that I will keep going back to.
