Well folks, MSN succeeded in deleting one entire page of the photos, but I'm determined.
I've just made contact with Mike Gross, a super DJ highly recommended by Jody Carver and Mike has a tremendous website with a lot of photos:
www.swinginwest.com
He has graciously consented to allow me to publish some of them here. I've added photos of Joachim, Bobby Garrett and Bobby Koefer to the website. Hope you enjoy.
Just clik on the following:
PS: you might want to copy the page in case the "duhs" from MSN go wild again.

Hey Folks, I'm sorry, MSN dumped the entire site and I'm rebuilding it as fast as I can. Stay tuned. Don't want Walt Stettner's and Mike Gross' efforts to go to waste.

Fred, you are going to an awful lot of trouble to give us the opportunity to look back in time. I'm sure the others appreciate it as much as I do. And, yes, when the pics are all back on line, I will probably copy most of them into my own "scrapbook" file. Thanks for all of your hard work.

Well I've built it back up, but I'm outta' storage space. So you better get 'em while they're hot. No tellin' how long MSN can keep their hands outta' the pie. Special thanks to Paul Graupp, Walt Stettner and our new friend Mike Gross. Here's the new site:
http://www.msnusers.com/fredandpatshannon/steelguitarplayersandothers.msnw?Page=1
You'll have to page through all the way to page 9 to get 'em all. I'll leave them up at least 2 weeks so everyone'll have a chance at 'em. Happy New Year.

Fred
Mike has asked me on his behalf to thank you for your kind and generous comments regarding
his contribution to this Forum.
Mike is a true blue friend and is one of us at heart. Although he dont play steel guitar
I know of no one who has done more for all of us steel players...Mike puts the steel guitar front and center always.
Those of you who have not listened to Mike, please do so. You will enjoy his easy going sincere personality and will go to any extent to help you find a recording you are looking for.
Mike was the first one to bring the Hot Club Of America back to life back in 1987..and I appreciate all he has done for me..He will go
out of his way for anyone of us.
Thanks Fred for acknowledging Mike Gross.
They dont come any better than my friend Mike
It has been my good fortune to call him my friend.
One more time
www.swinginwest.com try it you'll love it.
and you will hear the best
dang music this side of Heaven (Texas)

These photos are a real treasure trove. So many great players and, sad to say,-no Curly Chalker. Maybe someone has photos of him in the fifties and sixties. Thanks for all your work in collecting and making these photos available!

....one of those players who obviously has an extensive musical background is the player named
Fred Shannon! To overcome any modesty that may be inhibiting more exposure of the talents of this artist, how about pretending that he is a distant cousin and posting more of his background!

Great Pics! Thanks so much Fred n Paul! I remember hearing that Lloyd eventually went with the LDG because his first "endorsement" didn't spell his name right on the guitar apron...
