I want to come too!!!!! That would be great, just don't have it in the Fall of the year down in the Carribean, HURRICANE SEASON!!!!
If you have one do it in the early SPRING. Less chance for bad weather.
But let me know<<<<<.

Hey Brother David,
Nice idea, My wife ,Dee, thought of it and tried to pull it of a few years back. She is a travel agent and thought it would be fun. However, when it came down to it, she could not get any positve feedback/support.
We still think it would be a great idea and Dee is more than willing to work on it.
Equipment is the biggest problem. And support from those who can help organize this type of thing.
I see some interest on this thread. However, much more serious interest is needed.
Let us know the thoughts out there.
Thanks Paul and Dee

Hi Paul,
I know the wifes would really like this, I'm not sure how much support we can get when it gets right down to it, but it doesn't hurt to put out the word , I'm sure something like this will happen one day..)))
See you and Dee in Az in Jan............

Sounds great, David. I'll bring my bass for the whole trip. And maybe we can even get Keith Holter to bring his Bigsby!!!!
[This message was edited by Pat Goodbla on 03 November 2003 at 06:34 PM.]

[This message was edited by Pat Goodbla on 03 November 2003 at 06:37 PM.]

Sounds like a great idea; would be super if you could convince someone like Jeff Newman to be a part of it...Seminars in the morning, jams in the afternoon, shows at night...what a trip.!!

Hi David,
I went on a cruise with the Ventures last Spring which was organized by The Vacation Store represented by Julia Meekens-Self who was very helpful in providing all the ticketing and I imagine the separate ship accomodations for the concerts. Nokie played with the Ventures as well. The guitarist for Heart was there playing and Zoe McCulloch ----the strat queen from the British Isles. Concerts were dedicated and reserved to the Ventures "cruise group" . This was Carnival Cruise Lines. We were on the Ecstasy . As I recall the concert room was The Starlight Room on the ship which had also a small to medium stage.
Info on the Vacation Store and emails if that is any help are listed at
www.theventures.com. Julia's email is listed there too in case you may need additional help with accomodations.

Another idea if the logistics of a large full scale cruise prove too tough would be to charter a smaller boat, maybe up in the Puget Sound. Two trips during the late summer when the Buffet Winds blow!
I'm afraid to post any other ideas. I think the medication is kicking in. Later.

Its not that I don`t think you will come

All this is quite possible. My golf partner is a cruise director and I brought it up to him. If some one like the ISGC got involved? There is multi rooms for shows and jams availible. And most carry 3500 passengers and above. 3-5-an extended day cruises availible plus the Carribian. Probably the only way would ever go would be a Steel show and Jam. I can't swim. Prime times are now through March. But this season is all booked up.
