I forgot another footnote...
The Marty Robbins version of "Don't Worry About Me" with the accidental blown speaker on the bass amp ride was the inspiration for "Girl With Emphysema". The accordian had a hole in it's bellows.

Blown speaker? I thought is was a vacuum tube (now in the Hall of Fame).

Bobby...I think it was Jimmy Day that started that vicious rumor about Buddy Emmons playing a vacuum on that song.

I'd like to second Greg's endorsement of Jim Loessberg's tab/tape for this. I got my copy from Scotty together with several other JL arrangements of standards like Cherokee, Secret Love etc. I'm having a great time working through them.

The girl from Ipanema owns a hair salon and proudly displays a poster in her shop, which depicts her as The Girl from Ipanmea. In fact, she is that girl! Meanwhile, the family that owns the copyright is suing her for copyright infringements. I wonder if the Ipanemians make a good Pinot Grigio. Image

There are so many wrong ways to play "Girl" but John Steele's charts are correct. Jobim had so many great songs just waiting to be played on a C6. Can't forget "wave" as a great song with all his others.
