Ed,

Welcome and thanks for your comments.

Are you Ed Gerhard of "The Handing Down", "Tennessee", and "The River Is Wide" fame?

Hi Terry-
yeah, it's me. (Actually, the song is "The Water is Wide.)

Come to think of it, the Dunn I played may have been cedar. I remember the guitar being an intense yellow color; we might be speaking of the very same instrument.
Cheers,
Ed

Ed, again welcome. I have listened to and played (or attempted to play) your music for years.

Ed,

Welcome aboard! I've only heard "House of Guitars" and it's wonderful... I have given it to two friends as birthday presents in just the last month. What a great concept and production - both musically and the physical package.

It can be a bit disheartening hearing such great music coming out of < $200 instruments. Certainly proves it's the musician, not the instrument!

Terry,

Well if you don't get it I will at least be able to do an in depth comparison to it and my Russell when it arrives around April 1.

My guitar will be made of Tasmanian Blackwood - very similar to Koa.

Hi Terry..I just saw this topic and wanted to repond to you about weissenborn copyies too. I play a guitar made by Bill Bonnanzinga. For the money the sound and quaility construction is incredible. The guitar has a deep clear low end and a good punch on the high end as well. Mine is made
of Afican Mahogany, top, sides and back.with great apointments like rosewood binding w/ herringbone trim. Bill gets about $1650.00 for a model like this. If you are interrested you can call him @631 666-4074. or email him at bonzotone@aol.com. I can email you a pic or two and some sound bites I recorded on it. My email is pmosco@aol.com Good luck and happy hunting I think your budget price can be reduced when you hear and play one of these guitar...Peter mosco
