OJ: That was how I met LT at Carl Dixon's Atlanta Steel Guitar Extravaganza, almost three years ago. I noticed how he was playing rhythm and all the chord work he was doing. I couldn't avoid watching him so I went up and told what I thought of his work. I came to hear steel guitars but instead I find myself watching you.

Then he told me about the 101 Ranchboys and it dawned on me that I had seen him when I was just a boy. I have always liked that turn of events.

Did there seem to be a tuning of choice among the the super-pickers? Say C6/A7, C#minor, B11, etc.? I purchased a CD from bOb by Bobby Black. It is a combination of pedal and non-pedal. bOb said Black was using a C6/A7 (as I recall) but the two highest pitched strings (1st and 2nd) were chromatic strings, much like the E9th tuning used by the pedal pickers. From my memory, bOb said Black was getting beautiful chord combinations from this tuning.

Any one there use this tuning?

Incidentally, I highly recommend the CD by Bobby Black. bOb, you didn't steer us wrong in your recommendation of this CD.
