RFD Satellite Programs

Jason, I am happy you have found the RFD channel. Those old shows are terriffic. Hal Rugg was a great steeler back in those days and even better today and you get to see him and hear him a lot on the Wilburn Brothers Show. The Porter Wagoner show is also on the RFD channel as well. I was very young when these were on and hardly remember them so I have enjoyed what I am seeing. Yeah, much better than watching the not so Grand Ole Opry.

Bob, They do say that these are from the Willie Nelson library in Nashville. I am telling as many people as I can about these shows. Most folks have cable and the RFD channel is not on their programming. I have Dish Network and some of the other Dish companies show the shows as well. I hope they bring more of those old shows back. Roy Clark was on the Porter Wagoner show this morning. There are a lot of songs I do not know and then there are some classic hits. It is great to see some of the steel players and singers in their early years.

Thanks guys for answering my questions about the steeler on these shows.I tried to catch these shows as much as can. what I would like to see is the old Buck Owens show again. What would be great is if one of the two country channels did like VH1 does have a Thuesday classic olds At least the rockers pay respect to the old timers who made their music whatit is today. The other week wife saw a show on cable on how steel guitars were made couldnt catch it on Dish did any hear or catch this show
