Herb Remington is originally from Indiana, but he's been in Houston for so long, well... I'm sure Roger Staubach probably played some instrument in junior high, but that would have been in Cincinnati, OH where he was born and reared.

...ooops, sorry...you're right, didn't mean to drag Lee Oswald through the mud by association with the likes of him!

Lloyd Maines is from also from my hometown of Lubbock.
How 'bout Hank Singer--one of my favorite fiddlers.
Jeremy Moyers's Dad Wally is also from Lubbock--both a couple of fine players.
And Earnest Bovington, it makes me proud to be from the same state as the legendary Jon Wayne. (I'm currently waiting on the new CD, got the 45 already)
[This message was edited by John Macy on 18 October 2000 at 03:19 PM.]

[This message was edited by John Macy on 18 October 2000 at 03:21 PM.]

Seals AND Crofts. Steve Miller is from Wis., but spent some of his high school years in Dallas, hanging out with Boz Scaggs (who is from Plano). And speaking of fiddlers, don't forget the legendary Johnny Gimble (Tyler).

Someone mentioned Jimmy Day...wasn't he actually from around Tuscaloosa Alabama though? Seems like I remember reading that he was.
