reading the many CONS regarding the Pedal Steel mechanics, I gotta say, I'm not understating that. IF those who think we must tinker endlessly , they are mistaken.

YES, its a good idea to understand how it all works but the MEAT is you don't really need to.

A quality modern era ALL PULL Steel ,once setup properly, requires very little. Even those dreaded Push Pulls don't require much.

I'm looking across the room at my 1995 Emmons Legrande II, sure maybe 8 years ago I tore it all down for full cleaning and maintenance as I wanted to. Since then , other than string changes I don't recall doing anything other than touch up tuning at gigs. I'm talking several hundred gigs and today its still rock solid.


Buy right, buy smart, buy quality and its a very pleasant journey. IF we own a Pedal Steel that requires constant set up and adjustments, something is seriously wrong. And that includes the Push Pulls.
