The into to “Nothing Was Delivered” by the Byrds/Lloyd Green is one my favorites of all time, I believe that’s a 10-6-4 grip. Once I figured that lick out, I started using that grip more and more (along with 8-5-3). It definitely has a nice character and is a great alternative to the usual 10-8-6, 8-6-5, etc everyone learns right away

It can add a sombre like quality to pieces like "The navy hymn".
You can end up with some very rich sounds, largely due to the bass lines created by putting a less obvious part in the bass.

I'm sorry I didn't know the musical term for this. I just thought it sounded neat.
