I opted out of bookshelves and boxes etc. years ago and I only do e-books and unfortunately I locked myself into Kindle format -- a devil's deal, but it's where I'm at.
However, if this book is not available as such, I will definitely make the exception and buy the paperback. And a mai tai for Steve.

Same for me- paperback. Though I may have to read thru strong magnification lenses as time passes. A daunting task for you, Fish, yet we folks here on b0b’s site know very well Buddy would welcome the results. In truth, it is both his, as well as your, personal legacy...and of great significance to members of this Forum. Whatever form it takes, I hope it’s a tight and tidy, enduring tribute to a massive, musical genius we all still admire.

Whatever format it comes out in, is fine with me. I imagine I'll have to have multiple copies anyway...

I do have a different coffee table book that was a limited edition that was $110.00, so that price wouldn't be surprising.

Being a true book fan, I will go for the hardback version. But even in a tiny print run, the price difference compared to a quality paperback version seems way off.

At the same size, with the same contents colorwise, the hardback shouldn't have to be more than twice the price of a paperback, even in a very limited print run. (I know this, having published a couple of high quality books for corporate clients recently). Perhaps time to ask a few more printers for a quote?

On the other hand, the paperback price seems unnecessarily low; 29,95 would be more than OK, especially if it's a good size book – as the subject deserves.

Whatever happens, Fish has done the steel guitar community a great service by writing this book, and it will be well worth whatever it costs.

Now, what about a book about Lloyd?

I believe Lloyd keeps a journal so perhaps this one is already written!..lol!

As with a lot of multiple choice questions, there should be an "All of the Above". That's my vote

I'm going to add that I, too, won't mind whatever format Steve decides upon.

I must say, though, that I've never been comfortable with digital publishing. I love books - having them, holding them, and knowing that they're sitting on a shelf where I can just pick them up on a whim.

And Fish - on that personal note: I think our tour was thirty-seven years ago, not forty-something. Whatever, it's still a very long time....Remember the tee-shirts? 'The 1987 Hurry-Up-and-Wait Tour'? I have a picture somewhere.

I chose hardback, but I'll take paperback if that's how it shakes out.

Whatever the format, I intend to purchase the book as soon as it's available.

I do treasure my books and if a subject is close to my heart I’ll spring for a handsomely bound edition. I’m hoping the cover will be black. With a debossed Emmons logo. And for that price it had better have one of those nice ribbon bookmarks!

Seriously, an Emmons biography by a distinguished steel player? Pride of place on the shelf. It’s got to be hardback for me.
