Too much barefoot playing is hurting my left foot in one certain spot on the pad just before the toes start. Maybe I'll try some Dr. Scholls stick on pads on that one spot.

How about flip flops, or deck shoes like boaters use? Cowboy boots have a pointy toe that might actually lend precision... So many choices...

Be careful because if you get a sore it will take a half a year or more to heal.Use hard soles to be safe

I've always played in bare feet or socks. I try every now and again to play in shoes, but I can't. I need to feel the pedals directly to ensure I am hitting the correct pedal.
