Glad you found a guitar and got started. That era of MSA guitars with the finished wood body and silk screened graphics are well regarded.

Even though is was originally a Universal, Jim's expertise is well known and I'm sure you have a fine playing ext 12 guitar. Best of luck as you go forward with your steel guitar experience.

David Hodan wrote:You chose a great guitar IMHO. If you get bored with the EXtE9 you can make it a full Uni again. If you send an e-mail with the SN to Kyle Bennett (kyle@msapedalsteels.com) he can tell you when it was born and to whom. Don't listen to anyone who tells you there is little teaching material for 12 string. With minor adjustments in your grips and starting point all E9 and C6 material applies to the E9/B6 Universal copedent. Have Fun, and join us for the TSGA Jamboree March 11-14,2021.

Jim P talked to Kyle recently. If memory serves him correctly, this guitar was originally made for Bud Carter. Wouldn’t that be cool!

It’s gonna be a long week waiting.

Not Bud's guitar

Oh well. there will be history. I'm checking with Kyle as someone suggested. Will let you know. Jeez this is worse than my first crush in junior high...

Reckon it'll break my heart once or twice, too

You can't avoid seeing certain people in high school but you can always put the steel in its case...

But maybe you'll get to the point (not that soon, frankly) where you'll wake up before the alarm clock, jump out of bed, flip on the amp and picks and start to wail...
