O.K. guys.
I'm thinking of get me one of thoese Derby's .
How much dose the D10/ weigh?.

If you're only going to play it at home, no worry. If you are taking it out, better get a good dolly.

Just kidding. When mine was shipped, the rate was based at approx. 65 lbs. So without packing I'll bet it's close to about 60 lbs.

Anyone know if this about typical for a double neck?

Here are a FEW PICTURES of my latest D~10 Burgundy Derby, which I picked up from Charles Stepp about Dec. 14, ’05. They are great sounding guitars. I prefer the Geo.L. 10–1 model P/U. A few more Derby players are Lynn Owsley and Wayne Hobbs.

I have been playing Derby Guitars for a few years now. First I had a S-10 w/4 Fl. & 5KN.Super nice guitar. Traded it in and went back to the D-10 w/9& 6, traded it in simply because I wanted a black mica. Charlie built me a wnderful D-10 w/9&7. Plays great, stays in tune, and has that super-tone with the Geo.L's "10-1" pickups. I use 2 Nash.112's with the PODxt for F/X. It's great in the studio and live shows. The Derby Guitar Co.
has great parents....Charlie & Margit Stepp. These are great people, do good business, give great care, back up their sales with service,....and I'm proud to call them my dear friends. If you're able to catch us at a show, come play my guitar...it's the "Black Derby". Thanks guys for letting me drop in. New friends are a Blessing. Ron

It is so great to hear all the compliments for my father's guitar! I am so proud and happy that my father has been able to live a dream and be a success at it. I am so proud that even though I do not play I wanted a lap steel so I got a black one. Then Dad said I needed a pedal steel and he made me a purple single neck. It's great to see all the support and the great friends that Dad and Mom have. Keep playing those Derby's!

Hi Tommy, mine is a black D10 w/9&7, maybe that was the one you saw on the bench.
I was hoping that Charlie was chained to the bench until my new axe was shipped.

Troy Klontz who was with Brooks&Dunn for many years has played derbys since 1993. I belive thats correct. Ken Rollins has NO.6 derby, he,s played it for EONS. OOPS I TOLD HIS AGE!!! Sorry Ken. I have old NO.8 and its still alive and well.Boogie Sherrard also plays derbys and has played mine on several occasions. We both love the sound & quality.

It looks like any day now, I saw a couple pics online of of Charlie working on a new black D10 .... and it sure looked like mine.. I hope.

My new D10 was delivered yesterday. This Derby is sweet. Black 9&7, with E66 pups.
It looks great, gleaming black and chrome/stainless steel and sounds even better. With just a few minutes of warming up it impressed me with smooth pedals and levers and very good tone without touching my amp. Very few tweaks have been needed so far, a minor adjustment of a knee lever angle and a few pedal height changes made it very comfortable. I really like the fret boards with color crown fret markers.
Even my fiance, who seems never impressed, commented how smooth the steel sounded.

The FEDEX trip it took was not without incident, while the box had very little damage, the board that divides that case was broken in shipment. The case is a tooled Thomas and is very stout.

I am not familiar at all with split tuners and some other stuff under the hood. Can someone tell me what the adjuster looking thing is in the under the hood pic? It is the short rod with a knurled ring on it.
Also since it does not come with an owners manual, can someone give me a rundown on any tuning tips and explain the hex adjustments at the changer.
