Hi Mark,
Thanks for your interest.
To answer the question regarding..."I wonder if he still has that Fender Bassman amp?"
No, unfortunately in the mid 1960's when Fender changed to the black tolex, I decided to spray paint my Bassman with black paint just to conform....however the paint never really did dry...and was always a bit tacky, so I sold it!
Good Luck,
Al Brisco

Thought I'd say hello to everyone. Thank you Al Brisco for reaching out for the stories. Also love the video of Al playing Together Again. Just fantastic !!!
Also wanted to let someone know the quote from Tom Brumley saying "You can either play the damn thing, or your can't." I don't think the word (damn) fits in there. I never heard Tom ever say a cuss word the whole 48 years we were married.
I thank everyone for still remembering my Tom. Can't believe it's been 11 years since his passing. Love to everyone.
I still have his cd's , his Tom Cattin Tabulature, and some ZB T-shirts left in size 2 and 3 XL only.

Hey Al - I did the same thing to a chocolate brown Fender reverb unit with wheatstraw grill cloth that I bought from Dick Dale for $50 in 1964. I painted it black and spray painted the grill cloth silver so it would (kinda) match my 65 Bandmaster. I was playing surf guitar back then. If I'd kept it long enough I would have tried to restore it to stock but I let it slip thru my fingers like so many other things.....
