Don't have one now, but I've used Super Reverbs at various times. To me, the ultimate blues guitar amp, but frequently too loud for small blues gigs, I usually go with a Vibrolux Reverb anymore if I want 10" speakers. Hell, some places I have to use a Princeton Reverb or they freak out from the volume. But I think a Super is excellent for pedal steel. I love the 4x10" configuration, but for the last few years I've been using a '57 2-input 4x10" Bassman for that.

Anecdotal, I know, but one time our guitar player brought his vintage blackface Super to practice. On a whim I asked him if I could try it with my Fender 1000. I hit a chord and it was like one of those commercials where everything stops and all the heads turn. It was that good! I seriously thought about getting one after that but they take up too much space on small stages. That is all.

I black-faced an early silver face Super Reverb and changed the output transformer to a multi-tap Mojotone to drive a singe JBL D-130,and with a SS rectifier. Great sound--but I found it just wasn't loud enough for un mic'ed bar gigs with an athletic drummer.
Been using a Fender Steel King since then: plenty of headroom and a nice Fender-y sound,.. but not quite the same.

Ya just cant beat Fender amps... that is the reason little walker and milk man have pretty much copied them... and tons of other botique amps.. I love my orig 59 BassMan or 65 vibrolux or even my 65b deluxe for steel and or guitar!
Been playing all of my life, Lead Guitar, and Pedal Steel, sing Lead and Harmony.. play other Instruments also but I hate to admit to it..

i have a '69 AB 1069 super reverb and it sounds unbelievable with my 6
strings and my steels. so much boldness. i think it might
be the best amp i have. i think everyone should gig with
one before they croak. and everyone should try a fender
400 too. just saying.

Super Reverb for Steel
I just got a '66 Super Reverb, with the earlier ceramic speakers and it just sounds incredibly good for pedal steel. I do believe part of the magic is the 4- 10" speakers and it makes the 45 watt amp very efficient at a 2 ohm load - the volume never goes above 3. It sounds just as great for lap steel, overdriven by effects, with a really tight low mid-range that my 15" Eminence open back cabinet is hard to dial in. There's a glossy shimmer in the highs that is just wonderful. Of course the weight and size are pretty off-putting, but I've purchased an new array of cheap dollies to make bringing it to at least some gigs, where stairs are not involved, less of an issue.

super reverb
i had my super rebuilt into a 1x15" cab. had to change the output transformer to run an 8 ohm speaker. worth the effort. amazing with a 15". even better than 4 10's. i love it with all my heart. great with steel. great with guitar.
