What a great piece of music... I'm glad I saw this post, albeit a couple months late.

A group I was with got to do several opening shows for Southern Pacific in the late 80's across western Canada. John inspired me day in and day out... I learned so much from him. Not just how he played, but how he conducted himself with the fans, his band members and even with us the opening act. A consummate professional, as well as a humble and kind person.

One thing most people might not know about John is how quiet he plays on stage. He plays at whisper volumes compared to most musicians. I'm sure he is very happy with the IEM world of today :)

IMO.. it is a bit of each. I can hear his guitar style all throughout this piece... combined with his steel.

This is a real throwback to some of the stuff they were doing in Clover.
