I lost the birthstone out of mine and it was no problem to me but when I saw this thread I clicked on Bill's email address and told him I had lost the set. I received two sets in the mail within a week. Great service!!

To Bill Stroud, I received the new BJS bar in the mail on thursday. Thanks so much for replacing the old one. The was no inconvenience at all while waiting for the new one. I used my Emmons sitar bar or my one "good" old EBALL. They both made me realize why the BJS is so superior to everything else I have ever tried. The finish is perfect and it is slicker than any other bar I have tried.
Thanks for being a great guy and standing behind your product. It is rare to find a manufacturer so dedicated to customer satisfaction, that's why you have customers for life. I may even try the new 15/16" just for fun.

I bought one of the BJS bars at the TSGA a few years back, and it has been one of my mainstays. The only downside is that I wish I had ordered it with my July birthstone on the bar!

I just received a 1" 10 string BJS bar with my birthstone. It is a beautiful bar and will probably last a life time. I have only used it 8 hours as I am comparing it with my black phoenix and here is my findings.
The black phoenix is a little lighter, easier to grip and smoother on the strings. The sustained is equal and the only drawback
on the black phoenix is it is prone to peeling. If it did not blister or peel, it would be absolutely my favorite. I will use the BJS to see if it comes into my favor.
I have tried many different bars and have narrowed it down to these two. If there is anything out there better than these two, I would appreciate your input.

I had one of the original bars that had some bad places. I mentioned it to Bill in St. Louis, and he said, "I'll replace it!" The next year I brought it with me and he gave me a new bar, all smiles......that's service and says a lot about an individual. Thanks, Bill.

I also have had great treatment from Bill in the past and like these bars the best. I tried to order a 7/8 10 string from a couple places recently and they both were out. Bill, do you have any? can I get one direct, or from where? Thanks.

UNBELIEVABLE is the only word to describe Bill Stroud; he is DA'MAN.
Oh and Bo; if you do try a 15/16" BJS; you will never go back pal..>I converted from standard to it; about 4 or 5 years ago(it's all rushin' by me now I can't remember..ha) and I just hate it to put anything else but that on my strings.

Ricky, what advantages do you like in a 15/16" bar over a standard one? Is it a "feel" thing?

Yes Dan it was; and also I had a tendency to be a little to shaky sounding in my vibrato. That made a difference in a big way; as a 15/16" seem to be a perfect fit for my hand to roll the bar better.
Also notice and nice sustain additive than before; and noticed a fuller sound between string separation as it just seemed the bigger bar became more apart of the strings in all spread grips.

I would like to know, by proof the year and date when you got your first BJS Bar.The guy that's got the oldest BJS Bar, and the guy that has the most (more than three) BJS Bars by proof will get a prize.

Bill -- I've only got two, so I can't enter, but -- they are terrific bars. Really smooth on the strings and a great feel. The Jerry Byrd bar I got from you has a great, contoured tip.

Bill, The bar you replaced for me last month was sent back in the original plastic box that I got when I bought it from HerbyW. I think it was in the late 70's.-very early 80"s

Mr Stroud, will you be at the show in Dallas this year? I have a 7/8 bar that I think is a BJS but I'm not sure, there is just a hole in the end. It is by far my favorite. I want a new 15/16, but I would like to try some different lengths first. This is 3 1/4 and I can't keep my index finger from curling over the end, I hope a little longer bar will cure that.

WOW! Bill replacing a bar that is 25 to 30 years old. What a testament to a great guy and great product.

I bought my BJS bar from Bill at the 1983 Steel Guitar convention in St. Louis. I've never had a need for another one. It's been dropped many times and sometimes on concrete. Never a dent. All that's ever happened is the birthstone broke out a few times. I just go to the local jeweler and get one and glue it in myself. There is sure no chrome to peel off because he told me at the time it wasn't coated with anything. Just made out of really hardened shiney steel. I think it cost me 40 bucks at the time. Best money I ever spent. I might go ahead and buy another one at Dallas this year because Bill is such a nice guy

Bill -- I almost hate to admit it, but I actually own six BJS bars. I have a 1" 12 string, three 15/16" 12 strings, [one plain, one with green stone, and one with clear stone], and two 10 string bars. One 7/8", and one 15/16". I have enjoyed all of them at various times but currently I'm using the 15/16" 10 string bar on my 12 string Carter. I don't remember when I bought the first one, but the last two were the 10 string bars purchased through Al Brisco at Steel Guitars Of Canada in Aug. 05. I'll line them up later today and e-mail you a picture. George
