I will be coming to the jam Sunday, and should be arriving from Spokane early Saturday night. Anybody playing in or around Portland Saturday night? I want to come out and listen. Probably dont want to drive out of the metro area, and dont want to sit through new country noise either. Let me know where your playing???

I am planning to go to the Kenton Club Sat night. The headliner is an old Portland friend Joey Butler (from The Whispering Pines, back then) with Joel Martin on Steel, they are from the LA area. They are called The Stardust Ramblers - Rockabilly/Country.
The opening band The Starlight Trio might have Steel too. Possibly non pedal.

Hey guys who will be playing at the jam: I'll be there solely to shoot some photos for us on my website, http://steelguitarlessons.com, So...

DUST OFF YOU STEELS, give it a little spit polish, I'm mostly shooting hands and bars on necks with some arty lenses, even rented a super fancy one for the occasion. Looking forward to seeing and hearing everyone!

This goes again' m'Brain-washing!!!...
Three chords
Three chords
Every song must have 3 chords.

John, C'mon Man bring a Steel and play!!!
You should consider doing a two hour Seminar at these events, 10am-noon.
Lesson-1 "Getting more bang outta yer Twang!", maybe. :)

Pete "Rainy Day Woman" has two chords also. We will see how creative we can all be.

See ya today, Pete! Also, Waylon's Are you sure Hank done it this away is a I-IV cadence, no V chord. I know of one song with no I chord!

Not going to make this one. Back pain issues. Hope you all have a great time.

That was a lot of fun yesterday. Thanks to all who made it happen. When we all play together it usually is a cacophony, but yesterday I thought it sounded like an orchestra. Great playing all day!

Ken Pippus: yeah, I'll eventually get around to polishing up a few good shots from the jam and post on FB with a link here. And where were you and your gorgeous Ritt or Mullen? Got a note from home?

Video of Jam

Post by Daniel Neill »

Howdy,
I know it's all old news but I also wanted to mention that I have unedited video of a couple songs from the jam. However, since it is quite candid I thought it would be best to either get everyone's permission to post it or to make it available via private youtube link or dropbox. I know I hate when there's footage posted of me when I'm not particularly proud of my performance so I wanted to extend that courtesy to y'all. Message me if you'd like to have the footage for private use or if we can somehow get everyone's permission, I'd gladly post it.

Hey Dan, thanks for posting your nice pix, especially one of me shooting with my Canon, I'm hardly ever in photos! I enjoyed talking with you at the jam, stay in touch. Like to see your academic paper when it's done.
