One of my pedal steel heroes was Wayne Gayley, who played on Rose Maddox's album recorded live at McCabes. He used a flat pick to do incredible chicken pickin, and a flat pick and finger picks on folk rock songs. He was originally from the Bakersfield area and had the West Coast steel style down pat!
