It sound fine to me all the way across, and a 'legit' country performance. Steel sounds like an old school Fender amp, a little bit of hair.

You can see the rest of the show here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phmY36gzDo0. There are other singers and a mix of styles. I like the fact that she mixes up different styles and adds her own personality to all of it. No BS here, IMHO.

PS - I guess for amp geeks only - at 54:06 on the full show link, you can clearly see a blackface Showman head, with pilot light on, sitting on top of a blackface Deluxe (no reverb) with pilot light off.

I don't see the plate you speak of. Just the traditional changer housing as on wood neck Sho-Buds.

Right above the logo. It blocks the polished section of the changer. You can see a larger one in another picture.

I like everything about it... the music and Cyndi. I think it's a great match. And, yeah, the band is right on.

Desperate?

Boy are we the desperate bunch. We want real country so bad we will now take the closest thing and label it good. While I don't watch the voice, I still find real country on RFD TV and Internet Radio. It was good to see Steel and Fiddle on the show. Reminded me of a Karaoke singer. YMMV.

Yep, and here he is wearing the same jacket and sitting behind the same steel as in the Lauper video.

And here she is last November with Willie and what looks to be Greg Leisz on his Williams steel:

Man Greg is playing with everyone it seems these days. Last I knew he was touring with Jackson Browne, Larry Campbell and Theresa Williams. Nice to see a few steel players making some money.

That's ok, chris, I've never heard of him either... :|
His bio states:
"After growing up in Northern California, Justin moved to Nashville at 19 years old to play guitar and pedal steel. Since moving to Nashville, Justin has established himself as an in-demand multi-instrumentalist for both live and studio work."
He must be a crackerjack..

Cyndi cracks me up, but definitely in a good way.
I'm glad she's doin some country.

Her rhythm section was really in the pocket. A+ groove.

The Steel player was really good, a little dirty for me but that's probably what Cyndi wanted and he used
the dirt well and didn't overdo it. You really wouldn't expect a super clean C6 pickin' Texas Swinger behind Cyndi anyway,
she's unconventional, always has been. That's why she's so delightful.

I hope she does more of this. Looking forward to it.

Perhaps a modular pickup swap-out thingy like the newer MSA's and Sierra's?

I don't get it. I don't see anything in that picture that's different from this guitar with typical Sho-Bud style hardware.

Check my previous post(s) You will see an additional pickup on the "TV" guitar as opposed to the one on the Show Pro page which is obviously a different guitar. As for the "plate," I'm like you, I don't see it either -it just looks like a normal guitar... :?

I think Richard is seeing where the body transitions from square front to round front under the changer. It goes back to square front at the keyhead.
