Thanks for the feedback everyone. I do think I've narrowed it down between Williams and Fessenden, judging from all of your comments and other players I've spoken to. Duane, the guitar you're working on soungs great, and I've heard wonderful things about your work. Will you make a S-12? What can anyone tell me about TrueTone pickups? Are they single coil or humbucking?

I've been real happy with the Lawrence 710 pickups in my Williams D-10. I can barely tell the tonal difference between TrueTone and the 710. You get a little more "air" in the TrueTone, but hum is the biggest difference.

Barry,
You may also want to look into a Lamar pedal steel..I've had a few different wood based steels, and his cabinetry is 2nd to none ..I can safely say that it is in the top 3 builders , if not the top 2 builders, as far as the quality of the cabinetry ...The rest of the steel is no sloutch either...Lamar Colvin is also a gentleman to deal with ...You really do get a true CUSTOM guitar for very little money !!....Give him a call ...Jim
